How to Choose the Perfect Wedding Location

Your wedding is one of the most important days of your life, and you want it to be the best day, filled with memories you will relish for your entire life. And it is the main reason why couples and their loved ones take extra care when selecting and planning the wedding. Therefore, one critical aspect they need to look at is the venue of the wedding. We have listed down a few factors you need to consider before choosing the perfect wedding venue:

Are you having a religious ceremony?

If you are planning to have a religious ceremony, then you must keep in mind whether the venue will have the facilities to conduct the religious procedures. For example, you don’t want to have a Hindu wedding in the open, because, in any Hindu wedding, the main element in all religious activities is the fire (which is believed to bond the bride and groom), but, in the open there is always the risk of rain, and other aspects which may create hindrance. Therefore, clearly plan what you want to do and chat with the venue so that all aspects are attended to and there are no last minute surprises.

Number of guests

Weddings have become a very extravagant event with a few weddings even having 1,000+ guests. Therefore, having a headcount will greatly help you select the location as it will be an easy filtering point to discard venues which don’t have that capacity.

Ease of access

How easy is the venue to access for people? If the venue is in the middle of the city or near a very strong security place, then there will be a delay and issues for people to move around. This needs to be considered, as you don’t want your guests to be complaining about how hard it was to get to the wedding. Another convenience factor to look out for is the availability of parking and other facilities such as entrance for the disabled and elderly.

Do you have a theme and how much additional effort is needed?

Nowadays all weddings are based on themes (either style or at least based on colour). Therefore, it will be a good option to ask the venue management how much of effort is needed to fit into such a theme. This will also give you an understanding as to how much of an effort you need to put in to get the desired output.

Budget

Finally the most important factor that needs to be looked into is the budget. How much are you willing to spend and what is your capacity? This must be pre-decided as this will help you decide on the essentials (must haves) and the nice-to-haves, which becomes important when you make your decisions.
